RV Insurance is important to have no matter where you live. Sometimes a single stand-alone policy may not cover all of the many different types of RVs. Depending on the state you live in, and the type of RV you have, the insurance coverage you need may differ. We can help you here at Integrity First Insurance. We have offices in Englewood, CO, Fargo, ND, and Minnesota.
RV insurance is required in every state. Colorado alone requires owners to obtain both underinsured and uninsured motorist coverage if you purchase a travel trailer or RV, live in the RV full-time or use it part-time, or rent the RV for vacation.
In North Dakota, you will need to obtain bodily injury liability insurance of at least $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident. You will also need to obtain a property damage liability of $25,000 for each accident.
If you live in Minnesota, you will also be required to obtain liability for your RV.
You can choose from any of the additional coverage options:
Both collision and comprehensive insurance provide you with protection against damages to your RV. Collision will protect you against damages that are caused by accidents. On the other hand, comprehensive coverage will provide you with protection against damages against non-collision accidents such as fire and theft.
While it is mandatory to have liability insurance in these states, others still choose not to obtain it. Uninsured and underinsured insurance will cover the costs of your medical expenses and other expenses that qualify in the event you and your passengers are injured in an accident with another motorist who does not have enough insurance or has none at all.
