Every state has similar requirements. In Colorado, Minnesota, and North Dakota, workers’ compensation insurance is required. In Colorado, it is required for employees of both private and public businesses. In North Dakota, it is required before hiring for both full-time, part-time, or seasonal. It is required for all employees in Minnesota except for sole proprietors, partners, and corporate officers.
Commercial auto insurance is also required for these three states. In Colorado, businesses must possess at least $25,000 of bodily injury coverage for each person, $50,000 worth of bodily injury coverage for each accident, and $15,0000 for property damage coverage for each accident.
In Minnesota, businesses should possess $30,000 for each person and $60,000 for each accident for bodily injury coverage, $10,000 for each accident for property damage coverage, and at least $25,000 of uninsured/underinsured coverage for each person, and $50,000 for each accident.
Lastly, North Dakota requires $25,000 for each person for bodily injury coverage and $50,000 for each accident. They also require $25,000 for each accident's property damage coverage and $25,000 for each person for uninsured coverage.
